Dr. Miriam Aschkenasy joined CIRCLE as the Director of Strategy and Culture in February 2025. She most recently worked at Harvard University, where she was critical in creating, leading, and managing the Institutional Antiracism and Accountability Project at the Harvard Kennedy School. An emergency medicine physician by training and an expert in program operations, Dr. Aschkenasy has successfully worked within academic institutions, non-governmental organizations, and government agencies. During her career, she created a new Public Health in Humanitarian Response program at Oxfam America and the Global Disaster Response division at the Massachusetts General Hospital. She holds a Doctor of Medicine from Tel Aviv University, a Master’s in Public Health from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and a Master's in Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School. In her own civic life, Miriam served as a Town Meeting member in the Town of Brookline for nearly six years before winning a seat on the Select Board in 2021, completing her full term in 2024.
